The authentic charm of the Cirque de Salazie

Nestled in the heart of the Hauts de La Réunion, the Cirque de Salazie displays fresh, green nature where waterfalls gush down the side of the rampart — including the emblematic Voile de la Mariée and the Cascade Blanche, visible from the cirque road.

Born from volcanic erosion and overlooked by the Bélouve forest, Salazie is part of the ""Pitons, cirques and ramparts of Réunion"" property, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site within the National Park.

🏡 Hell-Bourg, Creole jewel of the Hauts

At the heart of the cirque nestles Hell-Bourg, classified among the Most Beautiful Villages of France for its architecture and its preserved natural setting.

Not to be missed

  • Maison Folio (19th century): Creole residence, tropical garden and guided tours.
  • Old Thermal Baths : remains of the thermal era, free walk along the edge of the ravine.
  • Heritage Box : small house-museum of Creole traditions (town center).
  • Terre Plate Forest : pleasant climb above the village with a panoramic view of Hell-Bourg and the cirque.

🌄 Explore the surroundings

  • Pond at Poule d'Eau : shaded lake, kiosks and family relaxation, between Hell-Bourg and Salazie village.
  • Bélouve Forest → Trou de Fer viewpoint : a classic starting from the Bélouve lodge (round trip to the viewpoint).

🌸 Experience the circus differently

Staying at LACAZE SALAZIE means choosing a gentle pace:
the birdsong when waking up, the coolness of the Heights in the evening, and the golden light on the ramparts.
Here, we take the time to watch the mist dance, share a Creole meal, and reconnect with what is essential.
